Ramakrishna Mission Sikshanamandira, a college of Teacher Education at the precincts of Belur Math holds a rich floral diversity with a variety of herbs, shrubs, creepers, trees etc. It also has numerous medicinal, aromatic, ceremonial, economical plants which are not only rare but also have educational significance. The Chraka Udyan, Nabapatrika Udyan and other small gardens all around the Sikshanamandira campus are home to such exceptional plants. The details of these plants like their common name, local name, scientific name, family along with their usage and used parts are described in this book. Some external links for further reading is also included after each plant description. High resolution photos of each plant clicked at our garden is also included for all the plants mentioned in the book for ease of identification. Altogether, more than 120 medicinal plants which are present in the Sikshanamandira garden, are included in this book.
